The service
What is JPCardHunt?
A deal finder for Japanese trading cards. We read every new listing on Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions and Rakuma, recognise the exact card and compare its price with what the Japanese version sells for on Cardmarket — so you see the cheap ones first.
Which games do you cover?
Pokémon (Japanese cards from 1996 to today, singles and sealed booster boxes) and the ONE PIECE Card Game (all Japanese sets, promos and versions). We only add a game when Cardmarket has a separate price for the Japanese version — otherwise the comparison wouldn't be fair. That rules out Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic, Lorcana and a few others for now.
Do you sell cards?
No. We are an information service. Every deal links to the original listing in Japan; you buy it yourself, usually through a proxy service.
Is it free?
Yes, during the beta every account gets the Collector features for free. Paid plans will come later — see pricing. If you sign up now you'll be told before anything changes, and the free plan will stay.
Who is behind JPCardHunt?
A small independent project from Bulgaria (EU). We're not affiliated with any marketplace, card company or Cardmarket. More on the about page.
Prices & deals
Where do the prices come from?
From Cardmarket's official daily price guide, for the Japanese version of each card. "Avg" is the typical selling price (the middle of the trend, 7-day and 30-day averages), "from" is the cheapest offer on Cardmarket right now.
What does "below the lowest offer" mean?
The Japanese listing — converted to euro — is cheaper than the cheapest copy of the same card you can buy on Cardmarket at the moment. That's our strongest kind of deal. "Below average" means at least 20% under the usual selling price.
Are proxy fees, shipping and VAT included?
No. The deal price is the item price in Japan (plus Japanese domestic shipping when the seller charges it). Proxy fees, international shipping and import VAT come on top. Our buying guide explains how to estimate them; set a higher minimum saving in your settings to keep only deals that are still worth it after costs.
How do you convert yen to euro?
With the daily reference rate of the European Central Bank, refreshed every day.
Why does a listing have no price?
Because we couldn't be sure which card or which version it is — for example the title has no card number, it's a mixed lot, or Cardmarket has no Japanese price for that version yet. We'd rather show nothing than a wrong comparison.
Why don't I see graded cards (PSA, BGS…)?
Cardmarket's price guide is for raw cards. A PSA 10 can be worth many times more, so comparing it with the raw price would be misleading. Graded cards are skipped.
Is every deal a sure win?
No. Check the photos, the condition and your total cost. Some sellers use wrong titles, some cards have damage that isn't in the description, and prices of new sets move quickly. Treat a deal as "worth a look", not as a guarantee.
Alerts & watchlist
How do alerts work?
You can get every deal that matches your own threshold, and/or alerts for specific cards on your watchlist. Alerts arrive by e-mail or in your Discord channel (via a webhook you add in settings).
How fast are they?
Usually within about 30 seconds of the listing appearing in Japan. Good deals on Mercari often sell within minutes, so speed matters.
What can I set for a watched card?
A maximum price in yen, "only if it's a deal", and whether to include Yahoo! auctions. Leave everything empty to hear about every new listing of that card.
Can I choose my own profit threshold?
Yes: a minimum saving in euro, in percent, or both, and whether to measure it against the average price or the cheapest Cardmarket offer.
Will you spam me?
No. We never send the same listing twice, cap e-mails per hour, and you can switch any channel off in settings.
Buying from Japan
Can I buy directly from Mercari or Yahoo! Auctions?
Most Japanese sellers only ship inside Japan, and Yahoo! JAPAN services are not available in the EU. The usual way is a proxy service (for example Buyee, ZenMarket or FromJapan): it buys the item for you, receives it in Japan and ships it to you. Read the step-by-step guide.
Will I pay import VAT?
Yes. Since July 2021 every parcel from outside the EU is subject to import VAT, whatever its value. Above €150, customs duty may apply too. The guide has the details.
How do I know the card is genuine and in good condition?
Look at all photos, the seller's ratings and the condition grade on Mercari. Our dictionary of Japanese listing words explains terms like 美品 (nice condition) or 傷あり (damaged). Be careful with prices far below the market.
Account & privacy
What do you store about me?
Your e-mail address, your settings and watchlist, and which alerts we already sent you. No tracking cookies, no ads. Details in our privacy policy.
How do I delete my account?
In settings, at the bottom. Everything is deleted immediately.
