Japanese Pokémon cards below Cardmarket

Why collectors buy Japanese Pokémon cards

Japan gets every Pokémon set first, often months before the English version, and many sets never come out in English in the same form: high-class sets such as Pokémon Card 151, Shiny Treasure ex or Terastal Festival ex are made for the Japanese market. Japanese cards are known for consistent centring and print quality, which makes them popular for grading.

On the big Japanese marketplaces — Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions and Rakuma — thousands of single cards and booster boxes are listed every day, and many of them sell for less than the same Japanese card costs on Cardmarket in Europe.

What JPCardHunt does for Pokémon

• Reads every new Pokémon listing on Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions and Rakuma, around the clock.
• Recognises the exact card from the number (for example 201/165 or SV2a 201), the set, the rarity and the name — including promos and sealed booster boxes.
• Compares the price with the Japanese version on Cardmarket: the average selling price and the cheapest offer right now.
• Skips graded cards, lots, damaged cards, reserved listings and suspiciously cheap offers.

Covers 16,032 Japanese cards from 1996 to today. New sets are added automatically every week.
